Skate Canada offers programs for skaters of all ages  and skill level. GVSC offers four Skate Canada programs to its members.

CanSkate
CanSkate is Skate Canada's flagship program designed for beginners of all ages. When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. You will earn badges and other incentives as you learn fundamental skating skills. Lessons are given in a group format and are led by an NCCP certified professional coach. Professional coaches are assisted by trained Program Assistants.

Pre-Star
We will be offering the Pre-Star program this year for CanSkate stages 5-7. Skaters will learn the fundamentals in their levels and will prepare for the step into the STAR program.

Junior STARSkate
Once a skater has completed CanSkate Stage 6 they are eligible to enter into Junior STARSkate and the Skate Canada test stream. Junior STARSkate is a transitional stage that serves as a bridgefrom CanSkate to the Skate Canada test stream. Skaters will choose an NCCP certified professional coach to further the child's skating skill level in the four categories of: ice dance, skating skills, freeskate and interpretive. Coaches are chosen and must be contacted by the skater/parent for lessons planning and scheduling. Skaters may also enter competitions at this point.

Senior STARSkate
Once a skater has achieved a complete Preliminary test level they are eligible to advance to the Senior STARSkate level where they will continue to hone their skating skills and learn more advanced skating skills. Skaters may choose to continue at the recreational level or advance to CompetitiveSkate.
